Amalia

Privacy and YouTube publishing

Updated 23 October 2026.

Private audio is the default

Amalia uses Google sign-in to keep a separate library for each account. We store your account identifier, book title, selected language, PDF, extracted text and generated audio to provide the service. Text and audio are processed using our configured Runpod voice service. Private files are stored in our private Supabase storage and served through account authorization.

Private audio links expire after seven days. Physical cleanup happens when you delete a book or return to your library after expiry; it is not an unattended deletion guarantee. Use Delete in your library to request removal of your files and library record.

YouTube is optional

Only when you select YouTube and confirm publication do we send the generated video, reviewed title, description and visibility setting to Amalia’s shared YouTube channel. Your PDF, source text and Google email are not included in the video upload. Amalia uses YouTube API Services for this feature.

Unlisted is the suggested visibility. An unlisted link is not private: anyone with the link, including someone it has been forwarded to, can watch and listen. Public videos can appear in search. A private video on the shared channel is available only to the channel owner, not automatically to your Google account. You control these settings before submitting.

You must have permission to publish the content you submit. By using the YouTube publishing feature, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, this policy and the Google Privacy Policy.

We retain the video identifier and your reviewed publication details in your account library. A published video can remain available after private files expire. Choosing Delete for a published book also requests permanent deletion of its YouTube video. If YouTube cannot confirm removal, cleanup remains pending for another attempt; we do not report a successful removal prematurely.

Channel authorization

Only Amalia’s administrator connects the shared channel. The channel authorization is used to upload requested videos and remove those videos when their users request deletion. Channel authorization tokens are encrypted on our server and never shared with visitors or the GPU worker. The administrator can revoke access in Google Account permissions.

Service limits

Conversions share a limited monthly allowance. Uploading a video uses additional processing time within that same allowance. A failed YouTube upload does not trigger another paid narration automatically; completed private audio remains available until its normal expiry.
